    Hi Lander,

I just came across your blog while visiting the SSC forum and all I can say is, pls keep on updating it with the latest developments on our beloved Queen, Cebu. Btw, I am a full-blooded Cebuano who is currently living in the City State of Singapore. Reading blogs like yours makes me feel closer to home.
Thanks for the effort and I hope we could meet during my visit to Cebu. I’ll be there on Dec 22 – Jan 1, 2007.

    Hi Leylander,

You have done a really good job with the website with very nice photos from the rural area to the urban area. From my point of view this has got to be the most in debt site about Cebu. Now i cant wait to go back.

YOur sharing of the beautiful photos in Cebu and the beautiful faces of the Cebuanos make me proud of being a Cebuana too. You are an amateur as you said, but you make a difference because you touched the true essence of simplicity – just showing what is true and what is beautiful. Keep up the good work.

I was MIA for a couple of months – really missed the site. I saw that a couple of my students left short comments. Had a long class discussion about the affluent malls being comparable to what we have here and the poverty stories I have told them.

Thank you very much for all your hard work. I really enjoy the pictures and your comments.

    Take care!

  63. menans perez December 11, 2007 at 4:12 pm

    Hi Lylander,

Your site is the answer to our longing for everything “bisaya” that is Cebu.
Most of us here abroad were very pleased viewing its content. Keep it up!

  93. JT January 3, 2009 at 2:41 am

    Hi Leylander,

Thank you for sharing your awesome website and sights of Cebu. I agree with the rest- like many, I also grew up in Cebu and had little chance to visit such places. I was recently in Simala and Badian and throughly enjoyed the sights and sounds. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera so no pics to see until now. Your great shots and generosity bring us closer to home. Do you mind if I copy a few great shots just to share with friends? I promise I will send friends your website in case they decide to visit the Phils. Your website is a great resource for tourists planning to visit. Thanks so much again and God Bless!

Why not try to visit the Bay of Silot in Liloan? It’s a good place to shoot pictures in especially on a sunny and cloudy day.

i have a canon eos450D. you should teach me some photography lessons =)

    • leylander July 27, 2009 at 9:11 am

sadly, i can’t teach you anything because:

      1. im using a point and shoot digital camera. mostly automatic settings.
      2. i know nothing about all those techniques in photography.

hehehe. but i guess you just have to take tons and photos and just experiment. im sure you’ll be an excellent photographer soon. πŸ˜€

    hi Leylander,

if id have seen and thought of checking your blog 5 years ago (when i started working here in cebu) ,i would’ve taken you up on your offer for a guided tour! i would have been a proud backpacker by now. i thought of looking up blogs to help me find ways to get away from the city and travel on my own, just to satiate my wanderlust, and i found your blogsite. i envy you. it must be interesting having you as a travelling companion.

anyways, just thought to drop a few (or a lot , hehehe) words. i hope the guidedtour offer still stands!

Much thanks for creating this awesome site. Missing Cebu but your site keeps me up to date and makes things easier. Very informative, it gives me a sense of what its like in all the different places I never had a chance to visit on our island. One day, I hope travel around this great island and explore all the different places you have highlighted on this site!!! After many years, I am finally returning home to visit Cebu again!!! Are you still available to give guided tours? Ideas/recommendations on top things to check out in Cebu? – salamat Bai’
