I used to live in Cebu for 7 years during my university days. I salute to my alma mater, University of San Carlos. My last Cebu visit was 8 years ago. I miss Cebu City.
a friend shared ur site with me and i’m glad he did…it’s nice to see our home from time to time and i love knowing what’s going on there…i am so far yet with ur blogs, a bridge will fill the gap.
Sad to say, i’ve never been to some of these places =( I need more time and money.

kda check in nako,hangyuon jud nko ang airline receptionist nga window side ko lingkod..after 10hrs from take-off mosulti na piloto nga “we’re now in final approach on mactan-cebu international airport” lili dayun ko sa bintana…huhhh!! ka lami jud tan awn sa ubos oi!! my sweet home CEBU!!,excited kaayu bsag evry 6mos. mkauli..

OH yes, Cebu is the place that I love, part of me will always be there. Growing up meant hard work, fetching water from another place since we did not have our own connection. Walking to and from school, making our own toys since we could not afford to buy them, borrowing clothes for graduation. Growing up with a lot of hardship made me who I am today, a strong person with values, appreciative of what;s important in life:FAMILY Even though we were poor, our parents still sent us to school for that is one of the most important thing that they can leave us., so we can go further along in life. Though we were poor, we have a tight loving family, that no matter what happens in life, we are there for one another.. The memories I have of growing up in Cebu is something that no one could ever take away. Ley, thank you for allowing me to reminisce, to see Cebu everyday. Keep up the great job that you do for all of us who are far away from home. Thank you.. Thank you..
Ley, thank you so much for this wonderful site. I might be leaving for the States soon and these photos made me feel like I haven’t experienced the entirety of my hometown yet. Now, I’m totally inspired to live and breathe Cebu in while I still have my chance.

I think if francine accepted the offer, it would make her love Cebu more. I think that you need to be away from Cebu to really feel what it’s like. Coming back even makes it more worthwhile.

it is very polluted, especially in Mandaue City…. I am from Lapu-Lapu City, When I go to school in University of San Carlos in Talamban I always pass the highway of Mandaue and it is very dusty and Lots of black smoke from dirty vehicle…and very chaotic..!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, there is a text scam going on in connection to spalding international co. located in mabolo, cebu. im supposedly a victim…here are the info:
1. philippine communication center (supposedly based in olongapo) texted me that i won a brand new toyota avanza and P300,000.00 cash prize. to claim i have to call the number that texted me (09129391841) and get in touch with AIRA S. CORTEZ.
2. Upon contacting AIRA, she instructed me to contact MR. DOMINGO GAW of spalding international at this number-09282329776.
3. I got in touch with Domingo Gaw and to cut the story short, it’s a SCAM based on the checklist of DTI, which are as follows:
1. Are you asked to pay a certain amount to claim a prize?
2. Are you required to pay right away?
3. Does the caller or salesperson refuse to provide written information?
4. Does the offer promise sizable returns with minimal risk?
5. Is the company or salesperson persistent in the pitch or sales talk?
6. Are you asked to keep the offer a secret?
7. Are you promised large sums of money for little or no effort on your part?
8. Are you requested to provide money for a processing fee to expedite the process of claiming your prize?
9. Are you requested to provide your bank account number where the sender can deposit your prize money?
10. Does the request contain a sense of urgency?
11. Does the sender offer to send you proof that their activity is legitimate?
12. Does the sales person pressure you to make a decision as soon as possible?
All 12 items mentioned happened in my 11 minute conversation to DOMINGO GAW. They will not release my prizes unless i register the car and get insurance that they will process themselves as a form of assistance to me. Apparently, the car wont be released from Cebu if i dont register it and if the car doesnt have any form of insurance.
This is the text message saying that I won, verbatim:
CONGRATULATIONS! Your# WON TOYOTA AVANZA w/ 300 thou via electronic last may.22,2009.For details, please call now AIRA S.CORTEZ of Phil Com. Center on this #.
And here is the address where i will send via LBC the documents (photocopy of the ff: birth certificate, barangay clearance & 2 valid IDs) that they require from me.

I told him, ok i will send the docs so that on monday (like what he said) they can deliver the avanza to my doorstep. So i tell him, wait for my documents that you require then deliver the goods. plain and simple. but he is persistent in having me acquire insurance for the car and even asked what type of insurance i want for myself. at this point he sounded very patient and argumentative which I really find weird and sooo FUNNY! I mean, is that how sponsors treat their ‘winners’???
HAHAHAHA!!
So much for Cebu…. tsk..tsk…

Cebu is a small place, when you grow-up here, you can really tell how small and great this place is. I live in Lapu Lapu Island much smaller than Cebu Island, most tourist went to Lapu-Lapu for its great beaches and surround islands.
Cebu people or Cebuanos are really friendly and can speak English and understand English very well.
cebu is very nice place,,they had more nice beaches and lot of tourist pot….
Cebu, the place that i am proud of. My beloved hometown and the place where i belong. Cebu is one of the fast growing city here in the Philippines. In terms of Socioeconomic development Cebu rank as the 2nd to Manila. With its rich heritage and culture and friendly people no wonder Cebu is now a progressive place. Cebu has become one of the topmost tourist destination here in the Philippines. With its beautiful white sand beaches, five star hotels, gallant shopping malls, and with all the comfort Cebu can give. i am a real and proud Cebuana!!!
