Makasuya gyud Uy! kay permi lang galihok ang liog ug mata sa akong bana.

Cool site! It’s been 7 years sinced I move to Toronto. Mingaw na pud ko cebu da! Although I was there this July coz my papa passed away. Pero lahi ud kung naa ta cebu especially when you were with friends and family. Bisan way kwarta mo katawa gihapon ta. Happy jud pirmi ba. Alegri jud sa Cebu, lahi ra jud. I’m a proud Cebuano. Ianne, are u a Lancer too! where/when did u finished ur H-School?. I graduated from UV (HS) circa 69-70. Moved to C(now U)SJ-R for my BSC-Finance, then to USC for my Accounting degree.
Tikboy, you’re a successful man. I graduated high school in UV in 1972. It was loooong time ago! LOL. Then in college, I went to USC for a short while only, then moved to CIC. I took secretarial course there, & worked for my father as his legal secretary.=) My father used to teach Criminology & Law courses in UV. If we know each other, you must know my sister Ethel, she’s a college professor in UV.
Ianne, I graduated ahead of you-1970. Do you still remember your teachers? I can name some. In 1972, I was already fresh college grad at CSJ-R. You were still fresh(wo)man in the yr I graduated. I knew of the Urot (Florencio-aka Pinsoy) family who was teaching at UV college of law, while her daughter-in-law was my math teacher in sophomore class. What’s your father’s last name?

If Paz Toreno was in section 1, then she could be the person I thought should be-she often times fix her hair with two ribbons, slim build, and bit tall. I was been in sec 2 all the way-was qualified to be in sec 1 on my Sr high, but opted to be with my old buddies in sec 2. anyways, boys in both secs were kinda close. were always having fun on our ‘boy scout ‘days. We’ve been here close to ten yrs now-we’re still kind of new yet. How about you?

ianne, tikboy – looks like una pa ko ninyo dah. 1964 ko nakatapos sa USP Mabini HS ug 1968 BSC graduate sa UV. I cannot fully remember all of my schoolmates. But the USP campus personalities during those years were Leo Enriquez III(+), Teresita Villa, Fatima Corazo(US), Leo Buot(US) and more. Ask Evelyn ug Elizabeth kon kaila sila.
Billy, the “superstars” in my sisters batch were the Rosello sisters.=) Their mother was a high school teacher there. I remember them very well because they were my sisters best friends.=) As I can remember, every recess, I always buy a camote q at the store across the school! Ahh, memories, memories…=)
Billy-no doubt about that. what happened to USP in the latter years, did it go bankrupt? We often teased and joked with my childhood buddy and later my ‘kumpare’ about his USP and my UV. All I could recollect was that, I said to him at least my UV is still up and running, while your USP is now dead. I don’t know the latest.
Ianne-had you had any class reunion? I am really looking forward to that. had joined Graduates.com (seems this site is dead now) w/the hope that i could make connections w/ those ‘baby boomers’ batch and initiate a class reunion activitiy, but in vain. Wish you a happy trip and enjoy the Sinulog. I just moved company a month ago, my vacation could only be next year this time around or next.

wow!! What a great pictures. I haven’t been in Kawasan for about fours years. I am from Malabuyoc Cebu and now I am living in Vancouver, Canada. Mahal kaha kaayo pliti pauli. So, panagsa ra jud kauli, unsaun nalang.
Hopefully when we go back there next year, will have enough time to visit Kawasan falls, I’ve always wanted to go to the top where you see the main of the waterfalls.
I didn’t know that Barili has falls as well?? My auntie lives there and she never mentioned about waterfalls. HHMMM..

My wife & I got the chance to come home to Cebu after 36 years of absence. I was really glad to see Cebu. A lot of changes. I got lost for awhile but after a few days of roaming around, I began to get my bearing. I am a bisdak, just heard that word for the first time, and I’m proud that I am. Now we are residing in Spanaway, weatern Washington, US of A. I was so impressed that I am planning to come back and stay for a year. Maybe I can do something to help the poor kids. More power to you being the point of cantact of bisdaks raoming around the globe.

hello leylander! i found this website thru marketmanila (a marvelous food blog based in the phils) and i must say im so glad nakaanhi ko nga site. im here in arizona and bisan ug naa pod ubay-ubay nga bisaya diri lahi ra kaayo as compared kung naa gyud ta at home in my beloved cebu. im so proud to be a bisdak. anyway, you have a very good blog site here. good job!

Just got back from Cebu -January 15- missed the Sinulog but had a wonderful time from January 1 (yeah got in just as 2009 took over from 2008) – hardly recognized the place – after being away for almost 10 years- place looks really progressive (though the same old shanties are in the same old places)- spent all long taxi trips on the SRP – boy that place makes me so proud- hope you can get some photos of the SRP (specially at night- and the view from there to the mountain – ) Ayala and SM are word class malls but i also like Park mall where i had my reunion with former workmates from the MEPZ company i was connected with before me and my family left for the US of A- the all you can eat seafoods buffet- Joven’s Grill is a good place to hold a reunion- same with Gerry’s Grill in Ayala (though that place is alot more costly than Joven’s)where i had my reunion with St Luis of Mandaue highscool batch of – 1976-
Didnt get to the beaches but I know they’re still awesome-
Planning to get back on December of 2009- with my whole family this time – God willing-( the wife and little kids came in for a month on Sept 2008- some vacation and the Cebuano ritual of “tuli” for the little ones- they were born in the US of A but we will try our best to keep them bisdaks)

gerry’s grill is delish. when i visited my sis in san jose, ca in 2007 i learned that they just opened a branch in union city so nangadto mi. sus, sa gawas pa lang daan natimahoan na jud namo dayon ang sugba. lami kaayo ilang grilled squid, sugba-kilaw (sinugba nga baboy gi-combine sa kinilaw nga isda). perte gyung lamia. bulahan ang cali kay daghan cilang pinoy resto didto. diri sa arizona, barrio fiesta ug red ribbon pa lang ang ni-venture. happy sinulog 2009 diay sa tanang bisdaks ug apil na pod ang di mga bisdak

i find this site so nice and it’s like being in cebu bisan ug layo tawn kaayo mi. I was born in dalaguete cebu and worked here in the US for a couple of years. I get the chance to visit Cebu yearly kalooy sa Diyos,pero basin last na ni nako na year ug uli-uli due to immigration requirements. I grew up in Argao. I live in Hawaii now. I love the church in Argao. It is the foundation of all Argaoanons. As a child I attended mass every Sundays and special occassions and used to sing in a choir and decorated the church for special occasions like weddings and Holy holidays. I truly miss Flores de Mayo. Thank you for the beautiful pictures (they brought back memories). I left Argao in 1982 and I hope to come back. Aloha!
