Special thanks to Jong D for sharing these wonderful photos of Barili! These photos were taken during a boating trip. These photos are pretty amazing.
Please do not copy the photos!
That building on top of that hill is that road-side cafe/resto you can see in Barili. This photo was labeled ‘Palalong’.

View from the top. (my photo. hehe)

Caves near Casay beach. Wow! I didn’t know there were caves there!

Ceres Liner!

This photo was labeled ‘my neighbor’. So, Jong probably lives near that huge house. Hehehe.

Casay Beach!

Casay Beach upclose.

Nice photos, Jong! Thanks!

What a lovely place! Wish I was there.=)
hi lay (murang close) hehehe… you have share so many information about cebu. i suggest you put a water mark on your photos so that it won’t be copied or if copied people know where it come from. just a little watermark and reduce the opacity.
i forgot the best watermark would be your url.
my type of place
wow, thanks a must place to see….. Ley, how far is barili to the city?
barili is about 61 kilometers from the city, you can board a bus in the south bus terminal…
I wonder what’s the story behind the white cross in that first photo (upper right part of the picture).
that’s a memorial of the filipino soldiers who died during the war against the japanese…the bodies were dumped at that cliff, on that spot…
Yeah i notice that white cross too, little bit spooky!
What a nice blue water at Casay beach and a lovely mansion
Bai Takdol nakabasa ko sa blogspot the cross marks the spot along the cliff of palalong where the japanese “allegedly” threw the bodies of the people they killed.
Joel, that’s an interesting piece of trivia. Thanks. Knowing it brings a somber feeling when looking at the photo.
hehehhe.. ang history daw anang palalong i’ve heard from my old folks.. kuan daw during sa don’t know japanese era man cgro or kinsa pa tong nisakop sa pinas before. they said ang palalong maoy tamboganan sa mga patay daw sauna if naay patay either civilian of soldiers.. thats why naay crus diha/.. diba? kabantay mo ley?hehhe
don’t know if thats the truth…
agianan man gud na ang Minolos, Barili padong sa amoa.hehhe
UPDATED MAN KA UI… tnx sa history now i know na.
yes, kabantay ko anang crus diha. kuyawa diay diha sa? such a nice place. pero kuyaw diay ang history.

I like! I like! Hope I can get to see that too.
Salamat Ley for posting the photos. Hope nga mag enjoy atong mga higala sa web.
Correction on the name of the beach this is not casay beach but this is “Sayaw beach Resort” owned by Atty. Alvin Garcia , and some history of the cross on the cliff in palalong, this is a Monument to the guerillas killed during WWll, the japanese used this place to throw the guerillas they capture, the bayoneted their victims and throw them down the cliff below. This is a historical place. And the building on top of the cross is “Palalong Place” it’s a small Bed and Breakfast Inn with a restaurant.
kudos to Leylander keep it up. but pls. correct the name of the place.

hi! my family is originally from barili and I cant help to comment.. its nice that there is a blog here about a place I know my whole life..my father is from barili proper and my mother is from minolos which is a barrio of barili.. balik2x ra mi diri.. naa mi sa city karon pero its very easy ebalik2x sa barili.. just an hour ride or more depending how familiar you are with the twist and turns of the road from car2x.. heheh..brings back a lot of memories looking at those pics.. yes thats palalong and the big white cross, if by any chance you get to travel all by yourself naa daw mo sakay sa imong sakyanan if mo pass by ka ikaw ra usa.. so u’ll never see a habal2x driver caught dead riding his motorcycle near that place.. heheheh.. sayaw beach is a nice beach pero katol xa tungod sa caves dghan au jellyfish stings.. there are a lot of places you can visit in barili.. like, falls sa kampanga, MANTAYUPAN FALLS, the old church,sa bulok2x mura xa tubod, sauna naa unta to paradise valley mountain resort i dunno mura bankrupt sila pero on the way dghan nice private beaches.. og uban pa.. its a nice town.. puro bugal2xon mga taw and you’ll always have fun.. and nice history..
