You’ve heard about the Gabii Sa Kabilin or Night of Heritage, right?
Well, they’re doing it again this year. And this time, six museums are participating. So that would be the Cathedral Museum of Cebu, Casa Gorordo Museum, Fort San Pedro, Basilica del Santo Nino Museum, Yap-Sandiego House, and the Museo Sugbo. These museums will be open from 6 pm til midnight on May 29, 2009. And in each museum, you’ll get to taste free food and drinks, watch live performances and cultural presentations, and see various heritage pieces on display. You get to experience all these things for only a hundred pesos. Too, if you add 50 pesos to your ticket, you get to ride a kalesa to and from any of the said museums! Isn’t that exciting?

haven’t heard of this one ley. clarification though, one hundred for each museum or the 100 bucks gives you access to all of the museums mentioned? =)

I am a frequent visitor of your website, and share a lot of what I learned from it to my friends and colleagues. Because of you a Cebuano who has lost his Bisdakness after three decades of being away, just returned from a two weeks vacation there, and is already making plans to return next year. hi to all, the Gabii sa Kabilin was launched in 2007 at Casa Gorordo Museum (that makes GSK 2009 the 3rd year). This was participated by Casa Gorordo Museum, Cathedral Museum, Sto Nino Museum and Fort San Pedro.
This is a partnership of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation and The Visayas Association of Museums and Galleries-Central Visayas.
This also shows that everyone is working with each other, museums, heritage structures, Cebu City goverment, the Province of Cebu, the media, hotels and travel aganecies etc. to make this event a success. You could say this is a Cebuano brand–heritage and culture and innovative initiatives participated and support by the different sectors

There is food available for our Gabii sa Kabilin visitors at some venues at minimal downtown prices but it’s not free.
For example, Casa Gorordo Museum in partnership with Shangri-La Resort & Spa will set up a booth that will sell food like stir-fried beef for below Php 100 (one hundred pesos) and a juice for only twenty to thirty pesos. There will also be a few neighborhood people outside very near Casa Gorordo selling food like Siomai. So it’s really a great deal and you’ll be helping people in our community by coming out to Gabii sa Kabilin 2009. Just wanted to let everybody know.
