Birhen Sa Simala In The City

The ‘Birhen Sa Simala’ stayed at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral for three days to give chance to the devotees who couldn’t go to Sibonga to pay homage to the miraculous image. Because of the number of people who wished to see Mama Mary, the streets surrounding the Cathedral were closed to traffic. People came in large groups all throughout the day and the lines never ‘disappeared’ even after midnight.

Last Saturday, we went to see the Birhen. And we had to stay in line for more than four hours.

It was very tiring but it was all worth it. :D

Although Simala is the better known locator, but actually the site is in Lindogon. We have to pass through Simala though.

Mas diyutay ang linya sa kupo kay sa linya sa paghalok nianang udto sa Sabado. So didto lang mi. Dugay-dugay pa gyod ang pag ampo atubangan sa imahen kay by batch man.

The kupo (veil) was the piece of cloth that was drenched during the first tear shedding.

Bless you, guys. I could see Legaspi St. where I grew up. It’s commercial buildings now. I went suroy-suroy there last January. I had so much fun.

Oh my God. Forgive our sins. This is idolatry in grand scale. The miraculous virgin even upstaging the Sto. Nino. Why? the Augustinians have no miracle to conjure in their sleeves.
