Grandslam Na!!!
Wow! The yearly Aliwan Fiesta in the cavesera has become a very expensive and well-organized ’brawl magnet’. Last year, members of Cebu and Iloilo’s contingents figured in a brawl. And now, this year, Alikaraw of Leyte and Carmen of Cebu went against each other outside the dance floor. Insults flew in all directions and trumpets were smashed. It keeps getting bloodier every year, doesn’t it?
As one blogger quipped, the Aliwan has done more harm than good. It has marked all diligently-nursed disputes blood red. Camaraderie is forgotten and division becomes more pronounced.
We cannot put all the blame on the Aliwan Organizers, of course. Everyone involved should take full responsibility.
So let’s all hope that this doesn’t happen again in the future.

Grabe dyud kapoya….hehehe..nahuman mi sayaw mga alas onse na sa gabie…nya gi announce ang winners almost 2am na sa buntag…huhuh!!….kulba kaayu wui…pero pag tawag nga second ang dinagyang…..galayatlayat nami sa among lugar…..eheheh samot na pagtawag sa CEbu as grand winner….mura mi mubuto mi sa kalipay….kay tanan namo sacrifices…..its worth it na gyud!!!….its our honor to show the whole philippines and the world what we got!
Being there as one of the dancers was definitely an experience thats breath-taking, fun and to the highest lvl of excitement!!.. woo0oot!!!!

congratulations to Lumad Basakanon. It was my first chance to meet them during the Aliwan 2008 here in Manila. I’ve been seeing their performance only in youtube two years ago but it was time that i had the chance to meet them. so i approached to some of them right after they performed last Saturday. I was so proud of them.
kaya go lumad basakanon. iniisip ko nga baka pwede na muna sila hindi magperform next year para manalo naman daw ang iba. hehehe… three staright na kasi. magaling talaga.

@Inday Myrna – lagi grabeh gyud and kalipay nga amung nabati atong mga orasa…. gasagulsagul na…..nalipay mi para sa tanang contingent from cebu nga nakadaug, gatapad raman mi sa Carmen ato nga time kay sonud man mi perform, ang float sa Cebu City represented by the IPI float won 3rd place, and the cebu contestant for Reyna ng Aliwan also got the 3rd spot, mao to,
while we’re dancing na in front of the judges, we never put our heads down, we showed the judges that we are here for the cebuanos, and we’re here to defend out title!
I know negative comments are raining every blog that featured aliwan fiesta 2008 right now saying ….”why on earth did we won?” ” recycled daw yung steps namin staka mga routines…….na may dayaan, mafia,…….and so on…. i checked every blog og mao gyud ang nanggawas…..bahala na cla mag sakit na ang taga dinagyang, kay ala na cla mabuhat, humana ang aliwan, hall og fame nami, mga Cebuanos og ang CEBU sa history of Aliwan fiesta. hahaha. og wla pa cla nakabuhat ana….kung mu grandslam man cla…..ikaduha nalng!…wahahaha…
btaw mam Myrna, if naa ka didto sa amung tapok when the winners when announced u would also feel the tension, even if ur just a spectator, mura mas taas pa cguro kag ambak namu! hehehe kay kami tanan gipangkapoy na, hehehe
Lumad basakanon will be very busy gyud after, expected nana, even adtong pag first pa daug sa aliwan, invitations wer flooding from every corner of the philippines, na balibaran na gani ang uban. During my high school days i was a participants of Brg. Luyang for Carmen Sinulog. And guess what? we keep winning and winning too. That’s why Alex i can fee what you feel. But now Luyang is kulilat in Carmen Sinulog.
Tinuod Alex kusog kau ko mo lumpayat, basta thrilling bitaw. Yesterday soccer game of my daughter is thrilling too, zero all in the first half. In the second half we score late, ah lukso2x syaget pajud, wla akong paki alam sa mga tao. Finally we are the winner. That’s 5th in the row now. But the final still long way.

Adtong January Sinulog sa Carmen wla lang ko ning jam kay init kau. Pero pagka fiesta sa Luyang banat ko oi. Labi na ang Dawis Norte w/c is 1st in Carmen Sinulog invited sa Luyang. Sa among tungod nagjamming kay ang Bgy. Captain bana sa akong cousin. Da! pabor lage kog sayaw. Nag enjoy judko.
