Danao’s Hidden Gem


 

Another very interesting resort I discovered recently is the Intosan Resort in Danao City. Unlike the El Salvador beach resort, Intosan is a few kilometers from the main road. So, people who visit the resort are those who’ve tried it or those who know how to get there. But just follow the small signs along the way and you’ll get there in no time.

The resort is awesome. It does not have a sound system and people are not allowed to play loud music. According to the woman who accommodated us, the regulars of Intosan are city-dwellers who want peace and quiet.

The resort has very nice rooms with huge beds. They have many interconnected pools, awesome slides, and other cool stuff one can find in waterparks.

The resort charges Php120 per person [entrance]. But, if you get a room, you [number of persons for the type of room] won’t have to pay the entrance fee. The place is awesome. Check it out.

    • no, absolutely not, there are elite people in Danao apart from Duranos,,, I’ve been there, really nice…but the lining of the pool and the pavement pain were coming off, hope they weii sort them out.

    pero whenever we have team outings, they have second thoughts of having it done in intusan. there was a team who spent their outing there. ana sila na kada lihok, naay bayad.

POOR SERVICE i would say… we stayed here a year ago and we really experienced a bad service as in really really bad… the front desk was not accommodating at all (and i think the front desk was the owner?!!) … she didn’t even greet us and she has that frowning face! we’ve waited for an hour before we finally get our room numbers to think we already have a reservation a week ago. They are not organized! the place is nice but their facilities are not plus mosquitoes are flying around so itchy!!

The place is good and nice pools… before, we went there way back 2006 i’ve met a wonderful staff there namely Sir Anton and Gaga I thinbk they are the operational officer we have a party then, but when we came back last year those people I like are not around anymore.. so disgusting kasi yung may ari, parang walang alam regarding hospitaluity Industry, sana mag close nalang sila kung wala silang ma hire kagaya nung mga days na maganda ang service nila…

    Pumunta nalang kayo sa El salvador maganda pa dun at talagang ma feel mo na hotel pero sa Intosan para kang kinulong what a boring place,.,.

    • IT IS TRUE THAT THE RESORT IS VERY VERY NICE AND MY KIDS WAS HAVING FUN WHEN WE WERE THERE BUT THE BIG PROBLEM IS THE STAFF WHO SEAT IN THE FRONT DISK IS SO BAD… I AM NOT LYING BUT IT IS THE TRUTH.. I DON’T CARE IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME BUT I AM ONLY TELLING THE TRUTH.

  15. the place was nice..ive been there in the present year,and its affordable..but something missing with their facilities.the room was nice but theirs a little problem which is, there shower didnt function i found difficulties in taking a bath….oh gush..and wish they could have more deeper swimming pools…only kids will enjoy to there pools..mabaw raman gud.

    how to get there?anha lang ka sa sm terminal naa dghan v-hire dha for danao and when u get in danao terminal..pag taxi nlng padong sa intusan…naa man cguro taxi padong didto or tricycle..not familiar with the rides man gd…lisod kung mag commute..or for your convenience just ride in your own car

  17. We stayed here for a few days. The staff treated us well. It was like having our own private resort with exclusive service. But the room needed mass improvement. The towels were thin and scarce- weird esp. for a waterpark. There was no bathtub and the tiled floors were slippery and got dirty so easily.
    The bed was foam over wood and we got one thin blanket per person. That was topped off with massive amounts of mosquitos. Overall we had an okay stay but the distance from the city, the bugs and the rooms would make me think twice about staying here again.

  18. Bad things about Intosan:

    1) Food is very unreasonably expensive. Plus, they don’t taste good at all. They add too many vegetables to the dish that look like meat so that it will look plentyful of meat where in fact it’s only a crumb. For me this is some form of deception to their customers.

    2) Most of their crew are not hospitable. They only care about the money. They don’t care too much about the comfort and satisfaction of the customer.

    3) The environement is full of mosquitos.

    4) Their air conditioner is defective. We checked in around 12 nn and it was not working properly. It was checked by their technicians around 6 pm already. From 12nn to 6 pm, we suffered a lot from discomfort of hot room. When it was finally fixed after a lot of time, it was already nighttime and since we had to open the door for some air, mosquitoes came inside the room. So after it was fixed, there were significant quantity of mosquitoes already inside.

    5) They advertise that their room has cable TV. They even confirmed this when we had our reservation but when we arrive there, the only channel received was ABS-CBN. It was not cable TV and the reception of the only channel was nowhere close to clear.

    6) What their internet site adertises about the price of their rooms was a bit conservative of the actual price.

    Good things about Intosan:

    If there were, I probably had not seen this due to the numerous bad things it had.

  20. I have to say the pool is great for kids. But the service is the worst I have ever encountered in Cebu. Bad customer service i mean really bad. Some guy in the front I think his name was Joel or Roel.. whatever! Does not have a clue about hospitality or customer service. He should be cleaning toilets instead having anything to do with Guest related duties. So I share the same sentiments as those who said negative things about the resort.

    I also had the same problem with the Cable TV. I had complained about it and I got bad looks and the attendant said : “ambot lang uroy, wala koy labot ana!”

    Since it was outdoor I expected some mosquito’s .. But there was a lot, I had to run to Gaisano Danao to buy mosquito lotion for my kids.

    Anyways I figured since it was the first time maybe most of the staff just had a bad day or something.. So I decided to take my kids again last month. This time around was worst!!! That I decided to get the F**K out of there and looked for other resort. We ended up in El Salvador. I have to admit the pool were not as great as Intusan, But the kids had the same fun, and thats important to me.

    • sory but i disagree about wat u said.bcoz as i experience intosan is a great place ive ever see its a hidden paradise 4 me in my family.ur just a stupid costumer whoo didnt appreciate the beauty of the resort and the warmth accomodation of the staff.the staff will not act lyk wat youve said if they will see that ur approaching them nicely.ur just making bad image in intosan resort

      • it’s true nga nice ila pools, the best in danao…but the service is really bad…mga parente og kaila man gud ang gi hire nga attendants, they are not well trained customer service employees…big rooms but lagom nang paints sa wall murag cave ang feeling and linens are so old…wala ko nang daot, ive been there twice and i got bad services on the two occasions…

  24. batch 85 of ANHS enjoyed the place during our reunion today, we all have the fun and laughter, about the place its amazing naman. although talagang low tide sila kasi mga bata lang ang nag enjoy sa pool, pero as a whole okay naman sya compared to other resorts i know

  29. hey! i’ve been to intosan last sunday night with friends. damn! i hate the customer service! they are so disorganized. we paid the reservation 2 weeks ahead for our convnience upon going there. but heck, they gave it someone else! and the front desk staff that was there didn’t even know either. we asked refund for our reservation but dugay pa jud kaayo mi na-accomodate. the owner’s phone was hanged up. sus! usik2x lng mi gasolina. super bati jud! i swear. nanguli nlng mi.

  30. The staff should take Customer service 101 coz wala pa gani mi nakaadto nawala na ako gana. Yes, I saw all the nice pictures and as in welcoming kau but pagtawag pa lang nako to check out for the room rates, hala ka, maldita kau ang nakanswer sa phone as in, di masikmura. Sa website 10 am ang check out time so I asked if pwede ba late check out like 12 noon lang and she told me “bayad na ka for another day ana.” as in ang tone take note pinabundak so, I told her mao bitaw nagkig arrange ko daan kay 9 am pa mag open ang pool, better yet mag day use na lang mi. She was so rude that I asked for her name and asked for another rep, nagsumbong pa with me on the line na nasuko daw ko because dili na malingaw ang mga bata …. the nerve … LIAR jud. Grabe.. i changed my mind, over the phone pa lang gani makasuka ka sa kabati sa customer service. The owners should take a look into this.

  31. if u want to go and visit intosan, i think it would be best to go there on weekdays coz they usually give 40-50% discount..i think, some of the reactions are exagerrated like customer service.. we’ve been there twice and the employees there are really ok..i think, i could say that the reps are ok because im not expecting too much of their customer service since we went there for fun and not really for their welcoming service..

  32. we were at intosan resort on our 2nd wedding anniversary. we got a room overnight. rate is only Php 1,000/night. It had aircondition room, cable TV, although the bed are 3 single beds put together to make up a family bed. anyway it was a nice experience.

    I would like to share an incident — a robbery “pagpang-lungkab” inside Intosan Report Danao City last December 5, 2009 ( Saturday ).

    This is what happened…

    We are a group of 10 people going to have a little getaway from work to Intosan Report Danao City.

    We arrived at the said resort at around 6:30pm – 7pm. After we put our things to our assigned
    rooms we then do some grills ( sugba-sugba ) for our dinner.

    After sugba-sugba I told my girlfriend to put our digicam back to our room and then we settled
    ourselves in the table near the pool. We’ve asked two employees if is it ok to set up our tables there and eat
    and then they said it’s fine so we eat our dinner there.

    After dinner the rest of our group went somewhere and only four of us were left in the table.
    We chatted there for like 30-40mins. My girlfriend has a bad feeling on our room as we talked. She had
    a feeling that something was pushing / telling her to go back to the room to get her jacket but she let it passed.
    Eventually, she can’t take it anymore she decided to go to the room to take a leak ( mangihi ).

    When she’s on the main door of the room it was still locked so she took out the key and opened it.
    WHen she was in she can’t find any of our bags on top of the bed ( this is we left our bags ).
    She looked underneath the beds and still nothing until she find some ceiling debris on the floor and then she found out that the ceiling
    has a hole in it already ( gi-bangagan ang kisami ).

    She screamed like hell while approaching back to our table. She said, “baby, wala na atong mga bags sa room”!

    We ran ahead to our room and saw what’s inside the room ( Absolutely No bags ).

    We asked assistance from the management but only one security guard went there to check.

    We can’t find those two guyz (employees) that we talked before we sat for dinner. Na kit-an namo sila
    ug balik siguro one hour after the incident.

    We went on searching the bags ‘coz the phones that was in there keeps on ringing.

    Ang among ka-uban mostly during the search was only the 3 brgy tanods and some policemens who responded in the incident.

    We can’t find a “thorough” help from the management. Kami pa ang naning-kamot na makit-an ang mga bags namo. Kami pa ang
    nag su-ot2x didto sa kalibunan para lang makit-an among mga bags.

    They ONLY HAVE TWO(2) flashlights and dili pajud kaayo mo siga( that means it is of no help ).

    There’s one time na wala najud mey flashlights so I’ve decided to look for one so I went to their counter
    and I found out na naa sila tanan ( employees ) didto nag tapok ug nag tabi. I told them
    “ambi nang flashlight niyo beh! naa man hinu-on mo tanan dinhi nag tabi instead na inyo meng tabangan ug
    pangita sa among mga bags!”

    The tanods keep on telling us na willing sila (tanods) mo tabang ug pangita as long as naa silay ma gamit na mga flashlights
    but unluckily walay ma hatag ang management.

    Nagpa kuyog mi sa guard n mo duty anang gabhi-una didto sa luyo kay namasin mi n makit-an pa namo
    among mga bags but unluckily wala jud namo nakit-an. We’ve decided na balikan nalang pagka buntag ang area sa likod.

    After sa incident wala jud gani dayun mi taga-e ug another room sa mgmnt. Mga 10pm+ pami nataga-an
    ug lain na room. Ni ana gani ang guard na “wala pa diay mo na taga-an ug lain na room”. Ang guard pa ang nag request
    sa front desk na taga-an mi ug room ( Ingon ana mo lihok ilang management didto ).

    Pag mata namo sa buntag mga 6-6:30am. Among gi balikan ang area likod hoping na makit-an pa namo
    among mga bags ‘coz our phones were still ringing.

    Minutes after sa among pagpangita na palong na dayun among mga phones — All four of our phones were down.

    Gi try ug contact sa among kauban iyang phone ( ‘coz 3 jud mi ang nakawatan ) then suddenly gi tubag
    iyang phone and we try ug hangyu niya na e bilin lang sa usa ka lugar among mga papers ( mga butang
    na dili nila ma puslan ) kay amo lang kuha-on but he said, “amo nang gi sunog dong”. After that conversation with the kawatan
    the phone was down and we can’t contact it anymore. Bisan kinsa ang pasulti-on — “This is an INSIDE JOB” tungod sa ka pas-pas
    sa pang hitabo. Mga minutes lang gud after mi na human ug kaon na wala na dayun among mga bags sa “Sulod sa among room”.

    Ang among concerns are:

    1.) Kulang ug Securty features ang resort. They only have one guard and naa ra ni siya sa atubangan.
    How about sa likod na ma-oy pinaka dilikado na part sa resort?
    2.) Walay “thorough” assistance from the management about the incident ( ‘coz
    until now dili jud daw japun ma contact ang owner sa resort ma-oy sulti sa OIC nila )
    3.) Walay initiative ang management kung unsay buhaton sa situations like this
    4.) Ni mismo flashlights wala jud mey ma gamit. Naa tu-od silay flashlights pero dili mang siga.
    Wala man lang gani search light sila sa likod.
    5.) Ingon nila na naka balo na ang OIC nila sa incident anang gabii pero wala man lang
    gani siya mi adto dayun sa resort para tan-awon ang panghitabo.

    - We want justice to what happened to us ‘coz we lost a Lot of valuables because of what happened.
    - Gusto namo mahibalo-an sa tanan kung unsa ka “Weak” ilang Resort.
    - We don’t want this to happen to anyone again.
    - Gusto namo ma imbestigaran ang mga employees nila sa resort ‘coz we suspected that this was
    an “INSIDE JOB”.

    Please share this info and this is legitimate…

    How about for a day out, is it safe? I just want to shout the kids there as they been already to Aroma Resort in Catmon, El Salvador in Danao @ Uragay in Carmen.

    • i don’t know for a day out but I advise you not to go there ‘coz if something will happen to your kids there the management is not willing to help you out. This info is legit and I had the chance to talk to the grandfather of the kid.

  36. State your complaints on their website, so others will be aware of the negative side of the resort. It’s not safe anywhere you go anymore. So, be vigilant & listen to your own intuition, like that lady who was robbed, but unfortunately, it was too late for her & her friends, but others can learn from the incident that they experienced there.   37. @drOTsOy. I’m very sorry to hear about the robbery incident that happened to you & your friends at the resort. I’m sure it’s an inside job. What did the authority do? Why not write a complaint letter to the owner? This incident shouldn’t have happened at all! Take care.

  39. They said that they’ve been contacting Dr. Tomboc and can’t get hold of him until now. I’m now thinking that they’re just making alibi to escape from their responsibility. BTW, who’s that Jasmine Pensione?

  40. Oh, Just as I was being enthralled by the beauty of the resort, the report by Dr. Botsoy of the robbery and the nonchalant attitude of the resort employees took away all my interest. The worst thing that can happen during a vacation is being a victim of a crime. It’s sort of anti-climax. Being victimized is a bad experience in itself, but it becomes even worst given the expectation of enjoyment and thrill on expects out of that vacation.

    Dr. Botsoy must report the incident to the police, so that a thorough investigation can be done. If it is an inside job, it would be easy to interview employees. The police tactics applied on them could yield to some confessions, and to do fingerprinting and lie detection Also, a case for damages must be filed against the resort. They should be held liable for the loss of the property as well as the anxieties caused by the incident.

    • A police blotter was already filed minutes after the incident and the Policemen said that they’ll be doing an investigation on the resort’s employees.

      We have a plan already regarding the damages. I’ve also emailed the story to Bobby Nalzaro but no response from him yet ( I don’t know if it’s his correct email address ). We want to show it to them that they are not dealing with “little kids” here.

      I want this info to be shared to Everybody ‘coz i believe this is not the Only time it happened.

      We are playing “hard ball” this time with them. >:/

    • And the investigation should start with the employee during check-in and the one who ushered them to the room. I imagine ilang gitan-aw daan ang inyong mga mahalon nga dala, dayon nagtext sa mga tulisan or sila mismo ang nagbuhat. In a few minutes, lungkab dayon through the ceiling aron ingnon dili inside job. Nawala sila during the discovery kay nagbahin seguro. Then, wala motabang ninyo sa search kay kahibalo sila naa ra sulod ang loot ug wala nay silbi ang search. This is a challenging police assignment.

    im a regular goer of INTOSAN,so far i don’t have any bad experience there.in fairness they were good and accomodating to me,but inspite of that i still symphatize on you because i know how you felt for what you have lost..maybe next time you should take a lot of care to your belonging because it can happen anywhere.wherever you maybe if things are bound to happen it will happen.goodluck for your plans..

    • I understand on what you’ve said in taking care of all my stuff but the thing is if their management gave us their “Full” cooperation at that time maybe we can still recover some/all of our things.

      Now, I’ll ask you what will you feel if you’ll see all their crews “talking” in the counter INSTEAD of helping you out in finding your LOST items?

  42. I had been to this place 2 times… I think thus people that are complaining are the people who are rude to thus people in the resort.. Honestly I am so meticulous in terms of resort. but I have seen and been to this place it is very nice… what their problem is they havent clean very well on their pool. Dusty ilawon sa tubig… but the price is very reasonable. The food is what paid is you can get more 20% taste of his price… Where you can find a P120.00 of gud for 2 or 3 person per serving on the food.   44. Just would like everybody to know that I’m not seeking for sympathy here. Just sharing our bad experiences on this resort. If you had a good one then that’s nice. This will serve as a “Legit” warning to all of you and if you find it offensive then I can’t do anything about it. Enjoy your New Year everyone!

  48. nakavisit ko aning lugara last april 9, 2010. nice kaayo nga lugar lingaw kaayo akong anak. sa akong naka experience ang staff accommodating man and very friendly basin pud tingali ang uban dili maayo ang pag-approach. grupo mi 21 kabuok pero ang problema ra nga among na experience kay guba ang toilet. amo gitawag ang staff dali ra man pud mi response. sa among grupo kay gidivide na ang tasks naay magluto, naay magbantay sa butang ug naa pud magwatch sa safety sa mga bata. wa ko kahibalo kon pila na ni sila ka years but give them time to improve the services basin diay with our comments diri maka awaken nila to improve the service and the place.

  49. thanks for sharing ur bad and nice experience….we’re planning pa naman to go there this month before the classes start with the kidz….i mean d ghapon ko maenjoy k magbantay ra d i ko ug cge sa amo things? wala koy yaya, 2 na ako bantayan kids ug things? what the use of the key f dli d i japun ta secure?…..fait! d na nuon ko nahan adto……dr botsoy, i dont want that to happen to my family….bugno cguro ang result…..hahaha……btaw maybe dili cla ana ka hospitable k ila employee cguro wala pud tawn nahibaw.an unsa na customer service ang ila lang cguro na makadawat ug sweldo……bad management s a result of poor costumer service…….

    • If that’s how you feel bewAY then good for you… All I can say is it’s not a secure place to enjoy and I can say it ‘coz I’ve experienced the hassle and until now everything is still fresh in my memory. Find somewhere else to enjoy…

    • Good for you donny… Just don’t risk especially if you have a lot of things to attend to. You can’t just watch your things all the time right? So that means you won’t enjoy your escapade.

      Just like what happened to us, “An escapade which turns out to be the WORST NIGHTMARE OF OUR LIVES”…

  50. as far as i know Intosan has the cheapest rate when it comes to accomodation,and they also had bigger rooms compare to other resort cause i’ve already tried those other resort in danao.just try to find for yourself.this is only a suggestion.last say would still come from you not from anyone,right?:>)

  51. yeah i agree you zine…. intosan has the lowest rates among all the resort in danao…. other resort addtl prson 150 1nd 180 bt intosan is only 120 wd extra bed not a folding bed lyk others…

Sa akng na experience sa intusan na twice a year mi mo stay didto… ok raman pero nagka dugay nagka “strikto”. ky naa koy bisita ato nga ni apas ky naa lng sya ihatod nko wla jd nla pasudla kng dli mo hatag ug 120 nga entrance…. bsan ni hangyo gud tawn nga kadiot ra kaayo wa jd sla mo sugot! bsan ila lng unta gpa kuyogan sa ila mga staff wa jd!! wla raba sla intercom na maka contact sa ila mga rooms o mga customer maka contact nla sa frontdsk… maka ingon pako na mas maayo pa ang 5star hotel ky maka suroy2x paka sa ilang pool bsan wla ka nka chck in, dli pariha nla nga walang ka star2x mag ingon ana pa jd!!.. ALANG SA TANANG GANAHAN MO ADTO SA INTUSAN LISOD JD SABTON ANG MGA BATASAN SA MGA STAFF RN DIDTO… MGA WALA MAN CGURO MGA GRADO PWERA LNG SA NAKAHUMAN…HEHEHE PERO KASAGARAN JD!! FOR SHORT MURA RA UG MGA “MAID” BA!!!.. BSAN DAGHAN NA SLA UG CUSTOMER WA GHAPON SLA KAKUHA UG MGA “H.R.M.” GRADUATE…. kita nalay sabot ky ang tag.iya tihik maldita pa jd!! tiguwang naman unta… hehehehehehe

    • Hi..it’s not fair to underestimate those people that you don’t even know,they are just following the rules set by the owner.maybe the staff are too busy to attend your visitor,or maybe its just a matter of miscommunication.i was once there and everything were ok.its just a matter on how you approach a simple request.good day!

  56. naa rana sa taw ui kng magpaaffect mu sa mga staff. me i had a very nice experience in intusan. be responsible to ur belongings and dnt leave ur rooms w/ out any person nga imong kuyog. remember thats ur day off for the day and u choose to go there then so just relax and have fun… though naa jud mga staff nga mga attitude prob, smile lang…

  57. 2nd time na naku nakaanha sa intusan. we have our youth summit there instead kami muy maglabad ang ulo sa mga attitude prob nga mga staff, sila ang naglabad namu kay amung kyog nga mga batan.on mga badlongon cge lng ug syagit dn bsag past 12 na ngcge ug pasopaso sa pool..heheheeheh..never mind the staff kay taga bukid na.

    I am looking at taking my family there in 3 weeks time & i was curious if that would be a good or bad idea ?Can anyone who has been there lately tell me if they think that it is safe to leave valuables in our room or should we take them with us when we go out ?Or just find somewhere else to stay like the cocopalms resort perhaps ?

  59. That place suckssss…. They are going to tell you there room is good only for 2 but actually its for four so they called take some more money out of you’re pocket. Seriously overprice canteen product! Cant go to the pool without a ticket even though you are check-in. Needs to have an entrance even though, again, you are already check in. Ohh yeah!!! children are not exempted from the entrance fee.

    • @ mokix, as a check in u should be free ito use the pool. But maybe the owner dont know about the overcharge by the information desk person @ hide it in their own pocket. I should try that place but not now.

  60. I spent several days at Intosan Resort… and was unimpressed. I was so surprised to find the front desk employees doing business by hand… check in… reservations… payments,,, and filling out all these little note books and receipts with carbon copies. I thought I had stepped back in time 30 years. Don’t they know about computer systems and the Internet… The room was OK… nothing special to write home about. The food in the canteen… took a long time to prepare… and I was the only one there… if was not really that tasty. The place had a haunting empty feeling about it. For me it was basically just a place to sleep. The water park looks really good in photos… but in real life it’s another story. It seemed run down and neglected. What I really did not like was the fact that there were no lounge benches next to the pools to relax on… all they had were those cheap white plastic picnic chairs made in China. I had no where to relax out by the pools… so I choose not to use the pool area at all. I was also concerned with the purity of the water. If a resort is skimping on basic services… it’s a pretty good indicator that they are skimping on important water filtration systems and water chemical to keep the water in the pools clean and healthy. There were kids in the pool… and we all know what kids do in pools. I chose not to find out for myself and avoided using them all together. If this resort is going to be successful… they really need to change the way they do things.
